Learning new language skills is a hallmark of the KG. Your child learns about the English Alphabet and its role in reading, practice rhyming, matching words with beginning sounds and blending sounds into words.
Young children come into the KG with widely varying knowledge in Math. By the end of the year, your child will have some important foundations in place. Some of the important skills your child would develop is the ability to work around small numbers, as in adding, taking away, numbers with lesser and greater value, numbers in sequence etc.
Communication Skills, PreReading Skills (visual perception, auditory perception) and PreWriting Skills. Children learn in a variety of ways and our focus is on increasing children’s selfconfidence in talking and listening and becoming readers and writing.
Art and Craft provides opportunities for all children to experience and build a life long foundation for expressing their own individual creativity in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Developing artistic skills is important to help children learn to express themselves and begin to communicate.
Every child is attracted to music and its effects on a child are very full filling. Children are taught songs that are topic based, songs with actions and fun songs.
We aim to develop knowledge of the environment, by exploring and examining materials, sand and water, sticking and construction toys. Learning about plants, animals and the local environment is also encouraged.
